Can anyone purchase violins from CJ Violins?
No, only music stores/dealers can buy from CJ Violins.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, ACH, Zelle and checks for no fee. Credit cards require a 2.9% fee to cover banking costs. Instruments will be shipped when checks/credit cards have cleared the bank account.
How do I become an approved dealer?
Submit an application through our dealer portal for exclusive access and pricing.
Why must I register and provide my EIN number?
This is to protect your pricing from retail customers. EIN numbers are required so that no one has to pay sales taxes on the instruments.
What types of violins are available?
All of the instruments are antiques, no new construction instruments. You will find primarily European instruments here, some with expert certification.
Do you have any other violins that aren’t posted?
Yes! I have many instruments not yet listed (there’s only so much time!) and I’m constantly adding to the inventory. If you don’t see what you need, drop me a note or give me a call.
What condition are the violins in?
You will find 3 classifications of instruments.
1) Fully restored and set up, ready to play.
2) Full restored but “naked”, needing full set up (bridge, tailpeice, chinrest, strings, pegs, soundpost). Some instruments may already have a few of these items. Check pictures and description for details.
3) “As Is” violins are exactly what it implies. Violins in all shapes and conditions. Any major problems will be noted on a condition report along with the pictures and descriptions.
How is shipping handled for orders?
Shipping is included in the price. Buyer must pay for shipping if they return the instrument. Buyer must also provide insurance for any instrument that is shipped back to cover possible damage.
What is your return policy?
The buyer has 21 days to return an instrument for a full refund, assuming it is returned in the same condition as when it was delivered.
Can I see the instruments before I buy them?
You are welcome to see the instruments at my studio in NE Atlanta. No instruments will be shipped on spec.
Are your prices flexible?
I am always open to reasonable discussions. I can offer a 10% discount on purchases of 2 or more instruments.
Do you take trades?
I am always open to in-person “wheeling and dealing”, especially if you have nice bows to offer. Never over the phone or with shipped instruments.
